Lawn irrigation systems are a common source of water damage to Indian River County properties. This is because most people don’t perform regular checks and maintenance of their systems. Following the simple maintenance tips for your irrigation system can help reduce water damage to your property.
- Check that sprinkler heads are positioned to only spray the lawn and that they are not spraying areas they shouldn’t, such as your sidewalks, driveway, or the side of your house.
- Run a test to make sure that all sprinkler heads pop up when the water turns on and fully retract when the water is turned off.
- Make sure that sprinkler heads are not being blocked by tall grass, overgrown plants, or other obstacles.
- Occasionally sprinkler heads can settle requiring that you raise them to the proper height again
- Check that nozzle is not clogged. If they are clean or replaced immediately.
