Can you let the insulation dry without taking the damaged product out?
12/22/2021 (Permalink)
The short answer is, no. It is important to keep in mind is that insulation is made out of a fluffy material that compacts when it becomes wet. This causes it to lose its R-Value making it less effective in keeping your property insulated. The wet insulation and surrounding wood structures coupled with surrounding dark, warm environment create the perfect habitat for mold growth. This is why it is best to completely replace insulation affected by water damage.
