However, it is very reactive and does require thorough knowledge and proper practice to avoid turning a straight forward mitigation into a much larger problem. Here is a list of some things you can expect from a professional mold remediation company:
- They will use a third-party company to test for the type and amount of mold in your home. The company conducting the testing will create a protocol specific to what is found in your home for the mitigation company to follow. They will then preform a post-test to ensure the mold has been properly remediated.
- They will seal off the work area so that mold spores do not become dispersed into other areas of the property. This is also referred to as “containment”.
- They will wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when dealing with mold. This can range from high filtration masks, gloves or even a full protective suit.
- They will use professional equipment. This is usually the most notable difference between a professional company and those posing as mold professionals due to the costly nature of the equipment.
