Small House Fire in Vero Beach, FL
We were called to this property to mitigate damage left behind by a small fire. The homeowner was vacuuming when they smelled something burning. To their shock the cord of the vacuum cleaner had caught their hall rug on fire. The vacuum cleaner was older. Normal wear and tear over the years left wires exposed from under the rubber sheath. The owner used another rug to beat the fire out. Thankfully it worked, but this spread the soot up the walls. SERVPRO of Vero Beach’s team arrived within an hour of receiving the call to begin remediation services. The first day was spent cleaning, then the following 48 hours we ran air scrubbers to filter and remove any soot from the air. It took 3 days total to restore this home.
